Do Dogs Prefer to Talk to Humans or Other Dogs? While your pooch’s parlaying preferences are dependent on a number of factors, scientists at the University of Portsmouth have discovered that canines tend to be more expressive when humans are around. Specifically, when people are present, dogs tend to display a broader range of facial expressions than they do with other dogs, and these expressions are very likely attempts at communication.
