Dog Learns to Read, Helps Teach Elementary Students

Fernie is a two year old chocolate lab employed by Dogs Helping Kids, a British non-profit organization dedicated to teaching children how to read. So it makes sense that Fernie, in an effort to do his job as best he can, has learned to read as well. Inspired by his ability to read and respond to words on flashcards, Fernie and the Dogs Helping Kids organization is making great strides in teaching children to engage and improve their literacy skills.
