Embrace the Trail: The People, Purpose & Pack of Tails N’ Trails Pet Services

Embrace the Trail: The People, Purpose & Pack of Tails N’ Trails Pet Services

When a dog needs more than a walk around the block, when they crave real trails, fresh air, and the kind of spirited pack-energy that only a guided adventure can bring — that’s where Tails N’ Trails steps in. Founded in 2015 by Carolina Carver, the company was born out of frustration with “ordinary” pet service options for high-energy working breeds. Carolina envisioned something different: a pet-care company where each day meant movement, enrichment, and outdoor fun.

A Story of Intention & Adventure

In the early days, Carolina was juggling her own dog’s exercise needs and the limited “walk-and-sit” model of most pet services. She asked: Why not combine the best of both — the adventure of the trail, the structure of professional care, and the personal connection of a consistent caregiver? With that, Tails N’ Trails launched in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and later expanded into Wisconsin.

That history still drives everything they do: choose the right people, deliver meaningful services, build relationships, and give pups more than a routine — a lifestyle.

Services That Go Beyond the Leash

At the heart of TNT’s offering are services designed to meet dogs where they are — whether they’re high-energy explorers or mellow couch-companions. Here’s a glance at the key services:

  • Dog Hikes: Real trails, outdoor terrain, fresh air and pack camaraderie. These are for dogs who thrive when moving and discovering.

  • Group & Solo Walks: Flexible options for dogs who prefer social time or one-on-one attention.

  • Dog Adventure Daycare: Daytime structure, enrichment and activity so your pup returns home tired (in a good way!).

  • Boarding & In-Home Sitting: No kennel. Dogs stay overnight either at a trusted walker’s home or in their own home with their established caregiver. Unique requirement: you need to use TNT’s services for at least 2 months before boarding/sitting. This ensures the best relationship between PUP and caregiver which in turn means the best care!

  • Board & Train / Training: For dogs who can benefit from more formal guidance, recall and leash-etiquette work.

  • Pet Visits: For smaller bursts of care when full walks or daycare aren’t required.

The Team That Makes It Happen

What sets TNT apart isn’t just the services—it’s who delivers them. Every walker is pet-CPR/first-aid certified and many are trained dog professionals.

From Mack in Rhode Island (who grew up with Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds) to Kayla and her fellow trainers in Worcester, MA — the team brings experience, passion, and a genuine love for the outdoors and canine companionship. Each profile tells a story of someone who treats every pup like their own. Tails N Trails
That means no rotating cast of walkers; your dog builds familiarity with one caretaker, trust deepens, and nothing is left to chance.

Why It Matters — The Benefits for the Dog, for You

Here’s where the real magic happens. When you choose TNT, you’re giving your pup more than care — you’re giving them purpose, confidence, and connection.

  • Physical Wellness: Trails mean terrain. Hills, shade, open spaces. For dogs, this boosts stamina, muscle, and overall vitality.

  • Mental Enrichment: New smells, fresh environments, pack dynamics — it’s like brain-gym for dogs. Mental engagement keeps behavior positive and stress lower.

  • Social Skills & Confidence: Whether in a group or solo walk, dogs learn pack manners, build trust, and come ready when they’re walking into any scenario.

  • Relationship Building: Because the same caregiver is used consistently, dogs feel secure, owners feel confident, and communication flows.

  • Peace of Mind for You: Knowing your dog isn’t just safe but thriving allows you to live your life without worry.
And — in keeping with our safety-first ethos at SafetyPUP XD — dogs can enjoy all this while wearing gear that makes them visible, reliable and fully protected in every lighting and environment.

Why SafetyPUP XD + Tails N’ Trails = A Strong Combo

In adventure settings, visibility and consistency matter. When a dog is trekking trails or joining a pack walk, the right gear is as essential as the right care. That’s why TNT’s emphasis on training, relationships and professional certification aligns perfectly with our mission: to make every pup Always Seen, Always Safe.

High-visibility vests, reflective gear, strong harnesses — these ensure that when your dog is out exploring with TNT, they’re protected. No detail is too small when adventure meets responsibility.

Tails N’ Trails doesn’t sit still. With expansion into new regions, a growing team, and a constant focus on reliable, adventurous, and high-quality care, they’re setting a new standard in pet services. The future isn’t just more locations — it’s better experiences, stronger bonds, and an environment where every dog returns from the trail with a wag, a smile, and a friend.
And our role at SafetyPUP XD is simple: support that vision with gear that matches the journey.
